Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What services do you offer?
I offer compassionate, evidence-based counseling for individuals (16+ years), couples, and families (up to 4 people). I am a trained provider of ERP for OCD. I also provide supportive, results-focused academic and career coaching for students, professionals, and those reentering the workforce.
How can I book a session?
Booking is easy! You can message me HERE with what you're looking for and a few times that work for you.
What is your cancellation policy?
Therapy is a commitment to yourself, and I am here to support that commitment. Because your session time is reserved just for you, cancellations and rescheduled appointments require at least 24 hours' notice. Late cancellations and no-shows will be charged the full session fee.
How much does therapy cost?
Individual sessions are $160 for 55 minutes. Longer sessions are available upon request. Premarital counseling sessions are $170. Couples and family sessions are $185 to account for longer sessions and assessment time. I offer a few reduced-fee spots based on need and availability. Payment is processed via your credit card saved on file.
I believe that everyone should be able to access therapy when it is needed, therefore if I'm not the right financial fit, I'm happy to connect you with another therapist in the community that will meet your financial needs.
Do you accept insurance/Are you in-network with any plans?
I am not currently partnering with any insurance plans. If you would like to work with your insurance provider to receive partial reimbursement for "out of network" benefits, I am happy to provide a superbill for you to submit on your own. I have partnered with Mentaya to provide the confidential tool, below, to help clients check and use their out-of-network benefits. Feel free to enter your information to see if you qualify for reimbursement of out-of-network services. Using this tool is not binding in any way and will not enroll you in any programming or advertising.
How long do sessions last?
Individual sessions are 55 minutes long, with extended sessions available upon request. For couples, sessions will be either 90 or 55 minutes each, depending on the couple's needs.
How long do clients typically stay in therapy?
The length of therapy varies based on your needs, goals, and preferences. Weekly sessions over a few months are often the most effective way to achieve meaningful growth and transformation, though many clients choose to continue longer as new insights and needs emerge. We will always decide together what feels right for you.
What can I expect from therapy with you?
In your free, 15-minute consultation, we will talk about what you're looking for and see if we're a good fit to work together. If so, we'll schedule our first session!
From our first session to our last, you can expect a safe, judgment-free space where you'll be seen and heard. Whether you're managing anxiety, battling depression, making sense of trauma, or adapting to whatever life has thrown your way, our sessions are all about you. I'm here to support you with compassion and proven tools to help you heal and thrive.
What about privacy?
Your privacy is a top priority. Sessions are confidential and protected under HIPAA. I do not use any AI-assisted recording services during sessions. I'll never share what we discuss in therapy without your written consent, except in rare cases required by law, such as with concerns about serious harm to yourself or others, or suspected abuse or neglect (see your consent form for details).
Since Athens is a small town and we may run into each other outside of sessions, I won't greet you in public unless you greet me first, to respect your privacy. I also don't follow or "friend" clients on social media, to maintain clear, professional boundaries.
Do you provide crisis or after-hours support?
I am not able to provide after-hours or crisis services. If you need immediate help, please contact the National Suicide and Crisis Lifeline at 988 or visit your local emergency room. If you require frequent crisis support for a higher level of care, I'm happy to help you explore options that might be a better fit for your needs.
