It is my joy to walk couples through premarital counseling and help them start their new life together on solid ground. Research shows that couples who engage in premarital counseling and apply the skills they learn are more satisfied in their marriages and at lower risk of divorce.
I'm certified in the Prepare/Enrich program, the leading premarital counseling and assessment tool in the U.S. for over 45 years. Prepare/Enrich uses evidence-based insights and practical skills to strengthen relationships and prepare couples for "I do"s that will last a lifetime.
What does premarital counseling entail?
Once you reach out and schedule your first appointment, I'll have each of you independently complete an online assessment that explores your personality, habits, background and more. Based on the results, I'll guide you through discussions focused on areas of compatibility, relationship strengths, potential challenges, and how your differences can become relationship assets. Throughout the process, I'll provide insights and tools drawn from my experience and training in marriage & family therapy, helping you build a marriage strong enough to face life's inevitable ups and downs.

To qualify for a discount on your marriage license and allow enough time to explore key topics, we'll plan for 6 sessions, although this can be adjusted based on your needs. At the end of our time together, you'll receive a certificate to use for the license discount. Of course, just because premarital counseling ends doesn't mean our connection has to! One bonus of working together now is that you'll already have a trusted marital therapist in your corner, someone you can return to for a check-in or "relationship tune-up" down the road.
One of your first decisions as a couple is where to invest your time and resources. Putting intentional effort into your future marriage is one of the wisest choices you can make, and certainly just as important as planning for a beautiful wedding day!
