Individual Adult Counseling

Are you feeling like you're not quite yourself lately? Maybe it started with a conflict in a personal relationship, a problem at school or work, or a new medical diagnosis and now you're stuck under a cloud of anxiety, obsessions, anger, questioning, or sadness that you can't seem to shake. Whether you’re facing a significant life change, coping with a loss, or simply navigating a rough patch in life, when excessive worry, anger, or sadness take over, everything starts to feel negative and overwhelming. If it's been going on for a while, you may even start to doubt your ability to ever get through it and move forward to the life you'd truly like to be living. Many of us have been there, and it's a hard place to be in. But, the good news is that you're not alone and you are already taking steps to make changes by seeking help. I work with individuals on the issues that matter most to them. Moving forward, healing past wounds, and working toward the life you want is always possible. Together, we will explore what is going on to make you feel bad, work with the strengths and resources you already have, learn new strategies based on your goals and values, and customize an approach for getting you on track to feeling confident and hopeful again.
Individual counseling for men, women, and teens dealing with parenting and family conflict, career changes

Common Challenges I Address

Anxiety and Panic: Excessive worry, overwhelming stress, panic attacks, and a sense that you can never fully relax. Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD): Recurring intrusive and unwanted thoughts coupled with compulsions to behave or think in certain ways to alleviate the unwanted thoughts or feelings. Sadness and depression: Persistent sadness, tearfulness, or a sense of hopelessness that feels hard or impossible to shake. Major Life Transitions: Difficulty adjusting to health issues, divorce or breakups, starting college or a new career, major losses, or unexpected life events. Low Self-Esteem: Struggling with feelings of self-doubt, self-blame or not being enough, despite your best efforts. Childhood Wounds: Working through the lasting impact of emotionally immature, abusive, neglectful, or inconsistent parenting. Overthinking: Feeling stuck in cycles of doubt or overanalyzing every decision.
How Therapy Can Help:
Therapy Provides a Safe and Supportive Space to: Process Emotions: Work to identify and acknowledge the feelings you’ve been carrying and begin to release them.
Heal from the Past: Gently work through unresolved experiences, including early life challenges, trauma, and relational wounds.
Strengthen Self-Worth: Reconnect with your inner value and build confidence from the inside out.
Shift Unhelpful Patterns: Notice the anger, fear, and other emotions that are not serving you well and explore healthier ways of being.
Build Resilience: Learn tools to manage stress, nurture relationships, live authentically, and move through life with greater clarity and balance.
I know how disheartening it can feel when you've experienced hardship and you can't seem to get out of a negative cycle. My approach is non-judgmental, warm, personalized to your goals and values, and rooted in both compassionate and practical care. We'll work together to uncover your strengths, support your healing, and move you toward the life you’d like to live. Connect with me HERE to get started!
